Class Description

 

The Banyan Tree - Yoga & Wellness teaches flow style classes.  Depending on the class, you may find elements of Ashtanga, Jivamukti, Power Vinyasa and Anusara.  In every class we will move in and out of poses flowing on our own breath, or holding poses for several breaths.  Everything comes from the breath.

Our classes begin with a short relaxation period to get our minds off of the stresses of the day and refocused on bettering our minds and bodies.  Next we'll move into some easy stretching, starting off slowly and gaining speed and depth as our bodies warm and flexibility increases.  Strengthening and balancing poses are always included before we slow towards the end of class.  Lastly we will lay in our final relaxation.  Each class focuses on flexibility, strength, breath awareness, balance, stress relief and relaxation.

The Banyan Tree - Yoga & Wellness is committed to teaching yoga in a safe environment with a relaxed atmosphere.  Classes are taught to push us towards our full potential, never further.  You will be guided into poses with the instructors voice and demonstrations, never a firm hand.  If you are taking special care of a particular part of your body, please let your instructor know and modifications can be made to any pose to suit you on that day.
